Centroflora Group signs Commitment with Biodiversity
In the beginning of December, Centroflora Group signed the Business and Biodiversity Pledge, an initiative of the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), which was officially launched during the Business and Biodiversity Forum on December 2 in Cancun, Mexico.
The purpose of the initiative is to call attention to the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem services for businesses and sustainable development, as well as to encourage positive action against biodiversity loss and degradation of ecosystems.
Centroflora’s participation in this initiative reinforces the company’s commitment to the pillars of the Convention – conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and fair and equitable benefit sharing.
Since 2015, Centroflora has been a commercial member of the Union for Ethical Biotrade (UEBT), an association that promotes the “sourcing with respect” of natural ingredients from biodiversity, adopting sourcing practices that advance sustainable business growth, local development and the conservation of biodiversity.
More than 100 institutions have already signed the commitment, which is available at the link below:
