Brazil is re-accelerating its API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) industry and opening a new battle for technological autonomy.
Strengthening the national Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) industry is one of the pillars for Brazil's technological autonomy in the health sector.
In issue #79 of FACTO magazine, published by ABIFINA, the CEO of the Centroflora Group, Peter Andersen, participated as a strategic source in a report analyzing the new cycle of reacceleration in the Brazilian API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) industry. The analysis was driven by industrial policies, innovation, and integration into the Health Economic-Industrial Complex (CEIS).
Centroflora's contribution to this debate is anchored in a long-term vision: investing in the internalization of strategic plant-based active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), generating intellectual property, fostering radical innovation, and using Brazilian biodiversity as a global competitive advantage.
The Centroflora Group also invests in platforms such as Inovafito Brasil and MPH (Molecular Power House), focused on prospecting for new phytotherapeutic products and innovative molecules. "These projects show that Brazil can go beyond import substitution: it can, in fact, create science, develop new active ingredients, and compete globally in innovation," says Peter Andersen.
It is at this intersection between industry, biodiversity, applied science, and public policy that Centroflora believes lies the path to strengthening fine chemicals, biotechnology, and the country's technological sovereignty.
